That’s a Wrap: The Post Travel Blues

It’s been two weeks since my last wrap up so I’ll keep it short in hopes that you take a moment to check out some of my other posts around the web.

I’m back in full blog mode here, but I’ve admittedly been a bit unmotivated.  I started unpacking from my trip on Wednesday night and stopped around 8pm, consumed by jet lag.  I’ve been walking through this ever since…

The Post Travel Blues

This Eurotrip has been my goal and motivation since the start of the New Year and now that it’s over and I’m faced with the reality of my unemployment and the boyfriend being away for another two months, I feel sad and stuck.  I know what I should do.  I’m just having trouble getting over my requisite “mourning” period, getting my ass in gear, and just doing it.

Feel free to give me a little kick in the pants in the comments below.  In the meantime, I did manage to get a butt load of work done before my trip which was published around the web while I was away.  I hope you’ll check it out.

How do you combat the post travel blues?  Any tips for jet lag?

I get depressed the last day of a trip and up to a week later. The best thing I’ve found to combat post-travel blues is planning another trip so I have something to look forward to :-)

I hear you, it’s hard to readjust after coming back from vacation. I went to Hawaii in January and am still having trouble getting readjusted to work again.
Looks like the blog is doing real well and you’re all over the web! Good stuff! :)

Thanks. I’m glad I have projects I enjoy to keep me busy now that I’m back, and once the boyfriend comes home, I think I’ll feel a lot better.

Start planning the next trip! And plan it somewhere with your boyfriend. Even if it’s just a weekend getaway. It’s so helpful to have some sort of project you’re both working on “together” while you’re apart.

The post travel blues are no joke! I know the feeling; it always takes a few days to get back into a routine.

I think I’m STARTING to return to normal again, but it’s taken a full week to get here. The fact that I got hit with a cold as soon as I got back didn’t help :/

I ALWAYS feel that way when I come back from vacation. I’m currently feeling some pre-trip anxiousness or impatience as I wait for my departure to Greece next month. I haven’t been on a trip in a year and a half and have been feeling blah lately. I’m glad I have my trip to look forward to next month. :)

I was totally feeling the pre-anxiousness before leaving too. There’s some quote about if you’re living in the future, you’re anxious; if you’re living in the past, you’re depressed; and if you’re living in the present, you’re at peace. I need to focus on being more present I guess ;)

Perfectly understandable to have post holiday blues. Don’t be too hard on yourself. I checked out some of your posts. You’re a good writer, Stefanie! Oh ya, and your room looks like mine. :O
